Man of Steel is a film released in 2013 directed by Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder also directed other successful and worldwide films like 300. This film was produced by Christopher Nolan, who not only produced The Dark Knight also, but is familiar with superhero filming and therefore was perfect fitted for making this film just as successful as The Dark Knight was. This film was distributed by Warner Bros who are a multinational co-orperation which automatically makes the film a viral hit due to their viral marketing campaign and publicity.
The plot of the film is about a young boy who learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind. A sneak preview of this is displayed in the trailer above, not to give away all the surprises and excitement of the film, but just enough information to intrigue the viewer and make them eager to want to go and watch the film.
The trailer starts with a stereotypical scene of a hero sinking in water, this scene is often used in representing a hero in a situation in which a normal person would be perished and would most likely drown. It then skips to a sinking bus scene, introducing many characters and displaying the genre of action and adventure instantly by endangering the characters and exciting the viewers.

The background is of the city, which not only shows Superman flying and doing unbelieveable herioc actions, but it could signify as him watching over the city, as a guardian. The cape and colours he's wearing also could represent bravery and power as the role he plays in the film certainly matches that figure.
The title 'Man of Steel' also could represent Superman as invincible as steel is extremely hard to penetrate and could be interpreted as 'invincible'. The date is standing out in reasonably big font at the bottom of the page to let the audience know when the film is being released and this will distribute the film well.

The front page of Empire Magazine have chosen a picture of Superman standing up very straight, arms held out wide to make him appear bigger and his fists clenched to make him appear violent but also as a hero. The heading 'Man of Steel' is used again just like the poster, this is to enforce the meaning behind it and to increase his reputation of being very powerful.
Again the bold colours are used to display his strength and importance in this picture.
