Safe Haven is a 2013 American romance film starring Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel and Cobie Smulders. It was released theatrically in North America on February 14, 2013.
Josh Duhamel had already starred in other global films like all of the Transformers films and this creates a better reputation for this film and gives it more conspiracy of being a good production because of this experienced actor.
The beginning of the trailer shows two women who are friends, running from the same thing which appears to be scaring or shadowing over them. This intrigues the viewers because they'll want to find out how they overcome these issues and what happens in the coming chapters of their lives. The trailer also shows which other films this production has made which increases the reputation to make the audience want to go and watch it when it's released, because both 'The Notebook' and 'Dear John' were a huge success.
The protagonist female then meets a man in her new hometown, and the music changes suggesting the change in her life and the importance of this greeting. She then points out to her female friend that she has 'had things happen to her in the past' which brings us back to the conspiracy at the beginning of the trailer. Sympathy is then created for the audience after someone tells the woman that the man's wife passed away a few years ago. The dramatic side of the trailer then touches the audience after they drift into love.
There is a significant build up in the music when drama is increasing throughout the trailer about the villain coming back to find the girl who has found love at last in her new settlement. The end of the trailer is finished by the man saying 'I love you' which connects with the audience and makes them understand the chemistry between these two characters.
Titles in this trailer display meaning and the title 'Safe Haven' has a background of the setting of the film which could display the importance of this location and what relation it has to the film. This example of verbal code is also displayed through other scenes in the trailer and from what the couple says to each other to show their mutual feelings and emotions.
